Craft beers come to a head in Tijuana | The San Diego Union-Tribune: At Aqua Caliente Racetrack today and Avenida Revolucion Sat/Sun. Nice touch with Czech music to simulate the beer-hall of days past...Bohemian Mariachi?!

  • Get a blog comments strategy in place.
  • Get some Google Adsense placement to see if this can pay for itself.
  • Add widgets to show our Bloglines list of news subscriptions.
  • Add widget to show our Now On Tap bookmarks at del.icio.us (SD Blog has an interesting little thing on their page.)
  • Hook in with some other beer communities, such as forums at RateBeer, BeerAdvocates, and social networks like del.icio.us, MySpace, Facebook, Flickr.

  • Map of Beer In San Diego...Cool!

    alt="travel to beermapping.com"
    title="travel to beermapping.com" align="right"/>
    The coolest map of brewpubs, beer bars, breweries, and stores (excellent) to get beer in San Diego is the work of the Beer Mapping Project reaches us from Declan at San Diego Blog. It's got most of my stops, including Par Liquor on Waring Rd, SD Brewing, Cheers Liquor and Deli on Jackson Dr., Bev Mo La Mesa, Pizza Port Solana, and more. It's also up to date on with sort-of recent brewery moves like Stone to Escondido, Port Brewing to old-Stone San Marcos...so it looks like it's kept up to date....excellent!

    A couple more to add to the list:

  • Mission Trails Market: 8181 Mission Gorge Road. The owner loves his job, which includes stocking some of the best locals (including seasonals) and selling them for reasonable prices (unlike some others do). He also has a tasting room where I've seen wine tastings...maybe a Now On Tap beer tasting might be cool...and local!
  • Windmill Farms: 6386 Del Cerro Blvd.
    San Diego, CA 92120. My main local place to get Alpine Pure Hoppiness (it goes so quick off the local shelves, they have a 4 bottle per customer limit...there's some neighbors drinking good beer!), other Alpine Brewing products, full Stone bottle line, various Green Flash including their ReaperAle line, Lagunitas, and more.

    Whoever that Beerinator cat is, he/she would definitely be a cool interview for the show. The site is totally blogger friendly with RSS feeds and subscription buttons (it's on the Now On Tap! list now) and blog updates, like the recent State of the Beer Mapping Project Address showing they are continuing to improve this service. Keep on Tappin'!
